AI music-making update: Moises Live and Synthesizer V Studio 2

Two of the companies putting AI technologies to use in tools for human musicians have unveiled their latest products this week.

Moises AI has launched Moises Live (pictured above). It is software capable of separating and controlling audio from a feed in real-time. It works for music but also other kinds of audio – film, TV and video soundtracks for example.

The launch follows the company’s $40m funding round in January, when it also revealed its latest milestone: that Moises had been used by more than 50 million people.

In a recent interview with Music Ally, Midia Research’s Mark Mulligan explained how using Moises influenced his view that music-making is taking a ‘constructivist’ turn in 2025.

The second AI music-tools company with news this week is Japanese startup Dreamtonics. It has revealed its new virtual instrument, Synthesizer V Studio 2.

Its focus is voice synthesis, with songwriters able to use it to create vocal tracks from virtual singers. The company says it is faster than its predecessor, and the voices are more natural and humanlike. The software goes on sale on 21 March.
